JOB PURPOSE: Maintains a safe work environment and ensures quality and productivity of machinery and mechanical equipment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
2. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, and production machines; Ability to following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications..
3. Troubleshooting malfunctions - Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Ability to locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
4. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing orders & verifying receipt.
5. Perform routine maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance and maintenance requests.
6. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
7. Be able to vary inputs or tooling to produce different products from the same machine
8. Knowledge to operate machine control system varying various parameters.
9. Knowledge of different types of machines and tools used in them
10. Responsible for quality of inputs and their bearing on the machine as well as the final product
11. Check raw materials for quality ahead of loading into machine.
12. Monitor machines for problems and report to appropriate personnel.
13. Follow production instructions to ensure quality.
14. Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
15. Complete relevant documentation.
16. Maintain quality and quantity with strong sense of accountability and high standards.
17. Understand and follow all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
18. Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
19. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing requested tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- A High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
- Must be able to constantly stand/walk throughout shift. Reach with hands and arms; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
- Mathematical skills - Ability to calculate and perform basic arithmetic and understand ruler metrics.
- Communication skills - Requires good use of the English language. Ability to read, write, analyze and follow instructions; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, peers, and customers.
- Instruction - Ability to receive and follow instructions
- Problem solving - identify issues requiring further attention; perform research in order to resolve problems, process facts and apply judgments, perform corrections and/or make recommendations; then take preventive actions
- Must demonstrate flexibility to changing priorities, deadlines, demands and assignments as needed.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Team player - establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with others related to learning, problem solving, backup support and fostering team support.
