Brief Position Description:

The primary objective of this position is to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Argos
workforce, service companies & contractors. This will be accomplished by providing the employees with detailed job plans, including technical specifications, machinery history, parts and tools lists, and safety procedures in a very organized fashion. As well as by reviewing each work order and job site to ensure that the work is reasonable and valid, that no influencing constraints are present and that all the preparatory works are performed before job scheduling.

In order to accomplish the prime objective of the position the Maintenance Planner must be fully cognizant of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP), having knowledge of the work order tracking system, spare parts catalog, requisitioning and inventory systems as well as knowledge of the modern software packages available such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.

â?¢ Ensure that safety, structural integrity and environmental policies and regulations are supported appropriately in design and implementation for any elements of the plant preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM) program
� Record IPO´s in the system.
â?¢ Participate in RCAs for accident/near miss events.
â?¢ Determine and list all the safety procedures associated with the work to be performed

â?¢ Focus the routing planning on priority work orders, working from highest to lowest.
â?¢ The planner will review all existing job plans, on a regular basis, and ensure that they are up to date and contain all pertinent information
â?¢ Ensure shutdown plans fall within budgeted costs.
â?¢ The Planner will be responsible to communicate the equipment specification changes to the Maintenance Team.
â?¢ Ensure the optimization of maintenance expenses and budget compliance, to guarantee the efficient use of available resources.
â?¢ Generate monthly KPIs related to the effectiveness of the planning and scheduling functions.
â?¢ Manage the necessary resources for the proper planning activities.
â?¢ Interact daily with purchasing to ensure that the parts and supplies required are in progress and establish the priorities for the work.
â?¢ Runs the item availability report for the weekly schedule and confirms the availability with stores.
â?¢ Participate in the evaluation of suppliers to ensure high competence of the contracted resources.

â?¢ Identify updates of the plant equipment taxonomy (Asset hierarchy and Numbering System) required to control the budget and to ensure a proper planning process.
â?¢ Identify needs of creating codes for technical objects in the CMMS (SAP) and ensure they are created.

Bill Of Materials (BOMs)
â?¢ Supply information to update of equipment Bill Of Materials (BOMs).
â?¢ Request the creation of codes for spare parts and services in the CMMS according to the consumption.
â?¢ Assis the methods coordinator in the definition of critical and strategic spare parts
â?¢ Monitor the existence of the defined critical spare parts according to a criticality study.
â?¢ Ensure high quality of technical specifications for maintenance spares and subcontracted work
â?¢ Identify and communicate required quality specifications for spares and rebuilds.

Maintenance plans
â?¢ Generate pertinent information for updating equipment failure/event catalogs in the maintenance information system.
â?¢ Optimize maintenance plans, proposing changes in the frequency and updating the task lists to improve asset performance.
â?¢ Give feedback to the Methods Coordinator regarding planning requirements to update maintenance plans.
â?¢ Ensures that the history records of WO and notifications are used to adjust the planning methods and routinely jobs task lists.

Technical information
â?¢ Keep updated the technical information of the assets on the platform or tool defined for this purpose and ensure it is properly administrated.
â?¢ Ensure that the maintenance practices are documented on Job procedures, comply with safety and Quality Insurance Standards.

Technologies (Methodologies, methods, tools)
â?¢ Identify technological improvement opportunities to make the activities of the work order planning more efficient.
â?¢ Assist the Methods Coordinator in defining methodologies to ensure the effectiveness of WO planning

Performance analysis
â?¢ Perform monthly gap analysis of planning indicators to measure the compliance of the objectives and establish action plans to improve the results.
â?¢ Monitor that the work is identified in an accurate and timely manner using the SAP system
â?¢ Track progress of the Purchase requisitions through the PO process
â?¢ Reviews the stock reorder report to ensure the orders are valid. Goal is to reduce working capital and have the right parts on site.
â?¢ Reviews min / max requirements for spare parts based on past consumption.
â?¢ Creates new item entry requests when a part is upgraded.
â?¢ Ensure that feedback from execution is taken into consideration to update and improve planning and inspection
â?¢ Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure that the maintenance budget is tracked monthly, that performance is shared among the team and corrective actions are taken in case of deviation
â?¢ Identify jobs from team history, CMMS backlog, PPM program, improvement plan, and capital projects for which it is needed to create task lists.

Shutdown preparation
â?¢ Lead (or co-lead) the main shutdown preparation
â?¢ Select work order for shutdowns based on priorities, equipment conditions and on budget, safety, and production requirements.
â?¢ Prepare and plan the shutdowns well in advance to ensure adequate procurement of spare parts and proper selection of contractors.
â?¢ Organize cross-departmental meetings to discuss the work to be done on the next shutdown, resolve possible conflicts and secure buy-in.
â?¢ Review plan with other turnaround stakeholders, plant manager, production, quality, process, store, etc.
â?¢ Put together a list of electrical motors to be disconnected for shutdown.
â?¢ Identify pre-turnaround activities & preparatory work: i.e.: staging of materials, assemble components, scaffold erection.
â?¢ Communicate specific requirements for process and production (bin to empty, closed gate, winterization program).

Work order preparation
â?¢ Ensure that each job has a Work Order assigned to track all components and budget.
â?¢ Develop a detailed job plan with all the work sequences involved to adequately complete the repairs.
â?¢ Define the work order resources (labor, parts and materials, major tools, contracts, and services)
â?¢ Ensure adequate WO preparation by specifying technical requirements (tolerances, torque, end floating, fits, alignment etc.), and specifying safety requirements (policy, procedures, and issues, MSDS).
â?¢ Add pertinent information to the work order, as required, to facilitate the comprehension of the execution team.
â?¢ Develop a detailed job plan with all the work sequences involved to adequately complete the repairs.
â?¢ Define special tools and equipment and arrange availability.
â?¢ Provide a parts list with reference numbers and exact location for every work order and ensure that all required parts are in stock before job scheduling.
â?¢ Request all non-stock parts and materials
â?¢ Develop a quality assurance procedure to check received part (dimension, quality, and type of material, NDT).
â?¢ Define electrical needs for welder and power supply in general to satisfy areas (day or night) with lots of worker involved.
â?¢ Define needs for rentals (welder, compressor, forklift, generator, zoom boom, brick saw, etc.) Set a procedure to check and inspect rental equipment
â?¢ Allocate manpower to maintain the job site cleaned before, during and after shutdown.
â?¢ Ensure all technical specifications and special instructions are provided on paper to the supervisor and purchasing area.
â?¢ Determine the cost involved for parts and supplies for each work order.

Risks analysis
â?¢ Attend risk assessments of maintainable assets and propose actions for their mitigation or control.
â?¢ Contribute to develop contingency plans (unplanned works, findings, change of date and/or duration of turnaround, weather sensitive project, etc.).

â?¢ Participate in the definition of the three-year strategic maintenance plan, including the investment plan (CapEx).
â?¢ Propose projects or methodologies to improve the reliability of the assets, increase the useful life of the equipment and reduce the cost of maintenance.
â?¢ Participate in the different phases of the asset life cycle to ensure that the concepts of planning are applied in decision making.
â?¢ Participate in evaluation of the residual life of critical assets as required.
â?¢ Ensure that feedback from execution is taken into consideration to update and improve planning.

â?¢ Ensure safe work rules and practices are understood, implemented, and consistently followed by employees and contractors.

â?¢ The incumbent will to update and maintain the equipment parts catalog and develop parts catalogs for existing equipment that have none as well as develop, equipment tool list for jobs that require such.
â?¢ The Planner will ensure that the inventory and sources of spare parts are consistent with the Argos standards, plant equipment reliability and economic constraints. He will also ensure materials and parts conformity upon receipt.
â?¢ Establish and maintain a system for proper storage of pre-works and parts for pending work. Ensure kitting of parts takes place daily.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to travel through a cement plant, i.e., walk over obstacles, climb stairs and ladders, lift heavy or awkward parts, wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.).

The employee will at times be exposed to extremely hot/cold, dusty, noisy, or dark situations. At times, work will be performed at great heights or in small confined spaces.
