SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory (SETA) services for High-Performance Computing (HPC) acquisitions and contract management in support of a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer for a complex space and ground effort within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA.

This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.

The Systems Engineer may be responsible for the following:

  • Tasking and priorities include oversight, management, review, analysis and reporting to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, products, systems, and programs.
  • Provide support in development of pre and post award documentation activities including Request for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOW), Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), and Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Advise the Government on new and existing HPC acquisitions through articulation of mission requirements into technical solutions for system design, integration, test, and operations.
  • Provides support to the customer’s Program Management Office (PMO) in the acquisition and execution of mission critical systems for an exciting new Mission Area for Space Domain Awareness (SDA). 
  • Serves as a part of a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) focused on executing a new multi-phase competitive acquisition strategy, supporting a modeling and simulation application environment to assist in evaluation and design of Space Surveillance functions. 
  • Observe, monitor, evaluate, and report developer’s performance in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the HPC system and make professional recommendations to the Government that ensure projects stay on a schedule and within cost.
  • Communicate programmatic details and operational status to Government officials
  • Provide support to various program activities including meeting attendance, performance tracking, analysis and reporting, milestone planning and reviews, schedule analysis, briefing preparation, staff coordination, acquisition risk management, and decision document preparation. 
  • Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documentation for compliance, execution, and Contractor’s satisfaction of requirements.


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in a related technical field or commensurate domain experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Poly
  • 9+ years of experience in related disciplines of Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, OR  Systems Security Engineering
  • Experience utilizing HPC systems and producing analysis in a technical field of study
  • Experience with hardware acquisition, systems engineering methods and processes
  • The ability to work collaboratively and comfortable in a team setting
  • Self-starter and ability to partner with numerous organizations and teammates in unity of effort.
