The Director, Cloud Site Reliability Engineering leads the Cloud SRE team in daily operations and monitoring support and is passionate about providing customers with outstanding customer service.

Sets strategy and collaborates with key stakeholders cross-functionally in developing the roadmap for team aimed towards reducing the operational overhead of keeping applications healthy, secure, and available for our customers
Operates, monitors, and maintains high availability of WBA applications running in Azure Cloud environment.
Continues to automate, scale, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure
Works with team to establish service level objectives and monitor to ensure the objectives are met
Leads design, writes and delivers software and automation to dramatically improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of cloud services
Continually improves cloud operations automation and tooling to monitor and maintain enterprise cloud-based applications
Troubleshoots infrastructure and application issues, and work with the relevant teams (Public cloud vendors, application teams, Cloud Engineering) to resolve issues
Identifies and improves on possible points of failure in the infrastructure/applications
Executes automation for known cloud-operations tasks, and creates new automation for new situations or issues encountered; automates everything
Lead and focus teams on root cause analysis, pattern identification and continuous improvement in order to optimize application performance, resiliency and reliability. Facilitates blame-free root cause analysis meetings in the event of a production-systems incident so that the team can learn from mistakes and improve systems and run books
Develops best practices to perform stress, security, and performance testing
Helps secure data and access policies to reduce risk
Performs application-related operations and management tasks to provision new customers, address operational requests, and keep the application running efficiently and effectively
Looks for opportunities to drive operational efficiencies while reducing costs. Develops and implements process solutions
May develop budget for functional area. Manages budget to plan and is responsible for meeting/delivering against budgetary goals and objectives.
Influences individuals within and outside the IT department. Prepares and presents reports to all levels of leadership and staff.
Stays abreast of industry leading best practices and brings them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application. Develops and leverages partnerships (and relationships) with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs.
Serves as a guide and mentor to members of the Cloud Platform SRE teams to aid in their growth and development. Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of experience managing site reliability and/or site operations OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience managing site reliability and/or site operations
Experience collaborating cross-functionally on availability/ performance issues to identify root-cause, determine areas for improvement, and drive those actions to closure through effective solutions
Experience managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion in an Agile / Scrum environment
Proven track record of improving reliability, availability, incident management and performance of cloud services
Experience with vendor and vendor contract management, including SLA review.
Experience suggesting competitive and innovative technical decisions, obtaining client buy-in and delivering on commitments
Experience explaining technical issues and/or solutions in non-technical terms to all levels of the organization, including the C-Suite level.
At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
