Job Summary

Manages process and metrics for inbound transportation for all collect shipments. Participate in strategic planning, ensuring optimal cargo flow, management of third party logistics companies, and cross functional collaboration of inbound freight. Oversight of Transportation Management System (TMS) set up and functionality for routing freight. Establish and develop KPIs for carriers and suppliers in order to monitor on time performance of carriers and suppliers. Participate in logistics provider selection and adherence to our service level requirements. Work in conjunction with other key stakeholders to plan, forecast, and prepare inbound flow to meet Walgreens inbound requirements. Participates with procurement to conduct new and ongoing negotiations with suppliers to establish collect model which leads to most cost effective cost of goods. Execution of process improvements for inbound transportation through collaboration with other teams on Six Sigma LEAN events. Partner with inventory management on a continual basis to establish order optimization for collect suppliers to ensure the most cost effective transportation. Create best in class process for consolidation opportunities to ensure the most cost effective transportation. Manage and lead cost savings initiatives including the freight terms conversion project.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in a supply chain or business role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years of experience in a supply chain or business role.
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using AVERAGE function, merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
• MBA/Master's Degree
• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business
• APICS CSCP Certification
• MS Office skill level of at least intermediate Excel, and intermediate PowerPoint
• Experience with data manipulation with SQL and other software
• SAP Experience
• Transportation Management Software experience, including but not limited to JDA (Blue Yonder)
• Experience in Six Sigma LEAN principles
