Job Summary

This role leads teams in the delivery of Cloud software products and services, for projects with a budget of up to $250,000, using agile frameworks. Applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into software development and service delivery. Works with Cloud Product Owner to define and prioritize outcomes. Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the software to increase effectiveness of software development and service delivery. Leads agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives and demos. Assists and facilitates as needed in backlog grooming, quarterly planning sessions and ad-hoc meetings. Identifies and may remove roadblocks to software development and service delivery. Responsible for managing team capacity and ensuring status and communications to leadership on the progress, issues, risks to ensure delivery of the work effort is managed within time, budget, and quality measures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs as the Scrum Master for multiple Scrum/Kanban teams, with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work.
  • Leads teams in the delivery of Cloud software products and services using agile frameworks. Applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into software and service delivery. Leads daily scrum meetings, iteration reviews and maintains a backlog of prioritized work items in collaboration with Product Owner or Engineering Leads.
  • Works closely with Cloud Product team, Cloud Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering groups to plan and deliver releases. Works with product owner to define and prioritize outcomes. Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the software/service to increase effectiveness of the scrum team.
  • Organizes and facilitates planning, estimation sessions, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, and other agile-related meeting.
  • Ensures Agile (mainly Scrum/Kanban/Scaled Agile) concepts and principles are adhered to, and you are also seen as the voice of reason and authority.
  • Identifies, tracks, and solves impediments and may remove roadblocks to software development, protecting the teams from distractions and escalates those that may not have an established precedence.
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Improves the productivity of the teams in any way possible, within Agile/Lean principles.
  • Provides coaching/mentoring to team members on Agile practices and processes.
  • Provides and ensure that relevant metrics have been formulated and are being utilized for the correct purpose.
  • Empowers the teams to self-organize
  • Represents the company with contractors, suppliers, customers, departments, and other parties as required.
  • Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget

  • Monitors, measures, and reports on project progress to management and clients
  • Works effectively with a larger team of Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches and Project Management professionals to establish best practices, facilitate learning across the team and contribute to the goals of the Agile Program Management team.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience working on a team that utilizes agile methodologies OR High School/ GED and at least 4 years of experience working on a team that utilizes agile methodologies
  • Experience managing a project budget up to $250,000.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices, including knowledge of PMBOK, Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban/Scaled Agile and other agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Experience facilitating discussion and conflict resolution
  • Experience managing customer/stakeholder expectations
  • Experience understanding technical issues at a high level
  • Experience working with diverse teams and/or personality types
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Information Systems or Computer Science
  • Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • Certification as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) as granted by the applicable certifying body/institution
  • Experience in a Cloud environment preferably Microsoft Azure Cloud or experience in infrastructure delivery and management
  • Experience with an agile methodology during a large scale, complex new development project for a large enterprise
  • Experience working in a dynamic and timeline sensitive work environment
  • Experience using analytical and project management skills
  • Experience working on a team and building cohesiveness within that team
  • Experience facilitating workshops
