As a Field Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic at HBI, you will perform the essential work of supporting our field utility construction employees. Our mechanics repair and perform services on vehicles and the equipment used to install and maintain the telecommunication lines that keep our communities connected. There is a continuous need for the expansion of the telecommunications infrastructure, and our business is more important now than ever before!

Wages: Starting at $27 and up- All wages are based on skill set and industry experience

FIELD MECHANIC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to all vehicle and equipment
Analyze vehicle and equipment maintenance data
Perform Annual DOT inspections and ensure compliance to all DOT and OSHA regulations
Complete repair and follow-up paperwork
Perform all shop and yard housekeeping procedures
Repair equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bore rigs, hydrovacs, trucks and trailers, utility cable reel trailers, and more
FIELD MECHANIC QUALIFICATIONS

Diverse knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
Have experience in hydraulics, electronics, and brakes.
Have an insurance acceptable driver's license.
Be able to operate equipment being repaired.
Field Mechanic Additional Information:

Must be willing to travel throughout Northern Wisconsin and the U.P. for equipment repairs (per diem and hotel when applicable)
Routinely work a scheduled week in the De Pere repair shop (every 5th week).
A restriction-free Class A CDL is preferred.
