Maintenance Technician under limited supervision will be capable of maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and repairing artillery weapon systems, M777 lightweight howitzer and M119 howitzer as well as maintaining, servicing, inspecting, and repairing M120A1 Mortar Trailers, M1151 Expanded Capacity Armament Carrier IAP/Armor Ready HMMWV, M1167 HMMWVs, and MAXXPRO. Additionally, will perform Preventive and Corrective maintenance, and technical inspections as required on the equipment. The maintenance Technician will ensure heavy equipment is Ready for Issue, if necessary, identifies the corrective maintenance actions, and creates a maintenance service request in the Global Combat Support System. Capable of performing Quality Assurance and Control (QA&C) inspections on heavy equipment when maintenance is complete. Will provide technical assistance, guidance, or training as requested to other mechanics and personnel. May be required, as requested by management, to plan, prioritize and organize section work plans, and tasks, verify the work/process is completed, maintain scheduled production data, report work and manpower status, and verify accuracy of administrative data. Will be required to enter all maintenance activities performed into the Global Combat Support System.
IAW with AR 710-2, AR 735-5, and AR 750-1 will ensure all the work is being carried out and meets the LOGCAP PWS Requirements. Uses measuring instruments and diagnoses to perform evaluation and general repairs to equipment. Determines replacement parts as needed. Works from prints, schematics, maintenance, and operational manuals. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Observes and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
May explain instructions and documentation to plan work activities of other employees. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Maintains and is accountable for inventory and security procedures for storage of Optics systems as well as repair parts. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment to include ensuring specialty tools remain calibrated. Job may require moderate lifting. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Skills typically acquired through 3-5 years' experience in maintenance of Integrated Electronic Systems (Optics).
Performs additional duties as assigned in areas of specialization on Armaments systems and other tactical equipment that may include: electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, refrigeration, NC repair, and machine tool rebuilding, mobile equipment, and electrical production equipment, positive displacement mud-motors, mud-operated pulsers, or downhole drilling tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
Above average oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Strong inter-active personal skills.
Strong knowledge of computers i.e., MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Windows.
Ability to prepare daily, weekly and monthly updates.
Self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
Very efficient; detailed-oriented with excellent work ethics.
Accurate and well organized.
Possess a civilian driver's license.
NAC-I Required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
24/36 months experience in a weapons repair or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiar with often changing deadlines, inquiries and related pressures and able to handle multiple tasks
