CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER

KMS Solutions is seeking motivated individuals to join our team to provide Engineering Support Services to the Program Executive Office Submarines for Ship Building (TEAM SUB SHAPM) program offices at the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC.

Job Overview & Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Engineers will be part of seven-member team within TEAM SUB to deliver cyber-secure systems to the warfighter. KMS is a leader in providing support to TEAM SUB and has been providing similar services for over 10 years.
Cybersecurity Engineers conduct Analysis and Assessment of cybersecurity vulnerabilities for TEAM SUB SHAPM and make recommendations on how to eliminate or mitigate these risks. Lead to secure and resilient platforms for the Navy and our submarine Sailors.
Essential Functions

Assist in developing the RMF accreditation packages using current DoD Instruction 8510.01 accreditation methods, to include the System Authorization Boundary, Hardware/Software/Firmware list, Dataflow Diagram, Security Plan, POA&M, System Categorization, Enterprise Reporting RMF Scorecard, System Level Continuous Monitoring (SLCM) Strategy, Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Security Assessment Plan (SAP), and Security Assessment Report (SAR).
Provide Cybersecurity policy and strategies aligned with business goals and objectives
Provide Assessment and Authorization (A&A) support services.
Prepare and deliver a System Security Plan (SSP).
Support cybersecurity of Temporary Alterations (TEMPALTS), Ship Alterations (SHIPALTS), Ship Alteration Record (SAR), and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI).
Develop, recommend, implement, monitor, update, and maintain Cybersecurity practices, procedures, equipment, algorithms, and hardware used to execute tasking in this contract.
Support data protection and segregation of data at different security classifications, assist to integrate CYBERSAFE methodologies onto current platforms, and support providing guidance following Vulnerability Assessments for platform specific Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's in Cybersecurity, Information Technology
5 years of relevant experience
Experience maturing technology and performing technology development, testing, integration, testing, and transition to production.
A Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or IAM/IAT level I or II certification.
A Navy Validator Certificate level I or II from Navy Certification Authority, or equivalent is required at time of performance.
SECRET DoD security clearance; may require up to TOP SECRET.
Competencies
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio.
Familiarity with technical terms and descriptions related to advanced systems.
Communication proficiency.
Thoroughness and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with a team.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.
Travel
Up to 10% travel may be required.
