KMS Solutions is seeking motivated individuals to join our team to provide Engineering Support Services to the Program Executive Office Submarines for Ship Building (TEAM SUB SHAPM) program offices at the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC.

TEAM SUB In Service supports the following program offices: COLUMBIA Class Submarine Program Office (PMS 397) and VIRGINIA Class Submarine Program Office (PMS 450). Support includes

PMS 397 �¢�?�? The COLUMBIA Class Acquisition Program Office is responsible for the acquisition of the OHIO Class replacement and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the Research & Development , design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

PMS 450 �¢�?�? The Virginia Class Acquisition Program Office is responsible for the acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy's newest class of nuclear attack submarines. The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class' capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Enhanced capability and affordability of VIRGINIA Class submarines by continued production evolution of the Class are essential to the program's continuation and success. VIRGINIA Class submarines are delivered from General Dynamics Electric Boat (EB) and Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News (HII-NN) shipyards.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

In the Navy Database Management Analyst role, you will be a part of a dynamic team located in Washington, DC. As part of this team, you will be expected to bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors. KMS is a leader in providing support to TEAM SUB and has been providing similar services for over 10 years.

Essential Functions

KMS is seeking someone with engineering, scientific, and analytical skills to support Team Submarine in Navy Database Management Analyst. MS Access DB is used to support the commitments for SHAPM effort. The commitment documents are stored and tracked electronically on a shared network drive. Three data entry personnel and one technical lead manages the backup scheme; designs data fields and creates ad-hoc and defined reports exported to MS Excel and PDF. Team Submarine SHAPM supports the design, development, testing, oversight, and procurement of the COLUMBIA and VA Class submarines.

In this role, you will:

Route incoming commitments and update/maintain data used for tracking status of open items.
Be the primary customer contact for Commitments Database.
Maintain database functionality and manage access required by 450T personnel.
Be the single point of contact on all contract management support related issues, including required reports and presentations responsible for quality control and timeliness.

Required Education and Experience:

A current or active DoD Secret clearance.
A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field.
Five to seven years' experience in management, operations research analysis, financial/cost analysis, or a relevant field.
Knowledge of PMS450.
Knowledge of Fly By Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS).
Desired Education and Experience:

Experience with MS Access database.
Experience with Navy acquisition and Submarine Programs.
Experience leading a project and interfacing with an end item customer.
Knowledge of Program Management, including the acquisition process, the budgeting process and Navy program execution.
Active-Duty Experience in the submarine service preferred.
Experience within Team Submarine.
Competencies

Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio.
Familiarity with technical terms and descriptions related to advanced systems.
Communication proficiency.
Thoroughness and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
