Description:
Position Summary:
The Recruiting position is responsible for being the voice of the company by providing great communication to volunteers about study specific criteria. This position assists with the screening of new volunteers to identify potentially eligible candidates for clinical research studies. The recruiter in this position will conduct thorough phone screens, in-person interviews and attend outreach events to determine participant eligibility for clinical research at JCCT. This position reports into the Recruiting Manager.
Position Responsibilities
Place outbound phone calls and answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner
Transfer any incoming phone calls that potentially reach the recruiting department
Ask screening questions of potential volunteers for clinical trial participation including, but not limited to, medical history
Review current medications and medical conditions to determine volunteer eligibility
Determine if a volunteer is appropriate to continue in the screening process for upcoming clinical studies
Meet with study doctors and/or study coordinators, as needed, to review volunteer medical history to determine eligibility
Review, enter and edit volunteer information into a clinical research software program
Understand critical information or criteria that needs to be collected for each clinical study
Assess volunteer's interest and willingness to commit to the course of the trial
Maintain confidentiality of participant information per HIPAA regulations
Participate in health fairs and outreach events to promote education about clinical research
Support the Research team by assisting with in-person pre-screening, customer relations, and sponsor relations regarding enrollment, as needed
Participate in team meetings and training with clinical staff to include reports of potential eligibility and recruitment strategies for the pre-enrollment of studies

Requirements:
Experience and Skills:
Experience in customer service, telephone, and computers or equivalent training
Microsoft Office proficiency
Writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with a team
Ability to manage small projects personally and work independently
Memory to retain information and know where to research answers

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred
Medical background or familiarity with medical terminology preferred
Familiarity with or ability to learn clinical trial management system software
