Maintenance Technician II
New England College of Optometry (NECO) is a small, independent, graduate institution located in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. NECO seeks a Maintenance Technician II for sites which include the College's historic Back Bay campus and two eye care clinics located on Boston's Commonwealth Avenue and in Roslindale Square. The Maintenance Technician reports to, assists, and works under the general direction of the Manager of Building, Grounds and Security and works closely with the Manager of Compliance and Safety.
At the direction of the Manager of Building, Grounds & Security, this person must be proficient in the following tasks up to but not requiring licensure:
Â· Light Electrical including: Fixture / outlet / ballast replacement,
Â· Light Construction including: Framing, sheet rocking, door hanging
Â· Basic Plumbing including: Restroom / kitchen fixture replacement, drain maintenance
Â· Event Room Set up / Room Turn Over
Â· Wall Repair/ Patch / Paint
Â· Furniture Installation / Repair including: Build / Install, sanding, painting / refinishing
Â· Flooring Ã??Ã?Â¢?? Install / repair: Small flooring installations / repairs, carpet / tile & grout
Â· Snow Removal / By hand / By machine

RequirementsÂ· Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4-7 years' facilities maintenance experience with a general knowledge of basic construction principlesÂ· Must be proficient with hand and power tools such as drills, power saws, laser levels Â· Must have good reasoning abilities and be able to work both in a team and independentlyÂ· Prior experience with a computerized maintenance work order system preferred.
