Title:
Solutions Architect – TS/SCI Poly
KBR is seeking a Solution Architect as a contingency hire for a full-time position supporting a government agency in Northern Virginia. The Solutions Architect will serve as a bridge between enterprise technical architecture and mission requirements. The architect is needed to identify specific business problems and then work alongside a team to create an integrated enterprise solution. The enterprise solution may entail changes to business processes as well as adapting, acquiring, or developing technical capabilities. The architect needs to have program management skills to ensure all key stakeholders all informed to ensure success in support of critical national security missions.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze current technologies used within the agency and determine ways to improve
- Assess the business impact of technical choices
- Document and monitor requirements needed to institute integrated enterprise solutions
- Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure hardware is available and sufficient for project needs
- Account for project challenges on constraints including risks, time, resources, and scope
- Research current and emerging technologies and provide recommendations on adoption
Required Qualifications:
- Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure
- Experience in software engineering, design architecture, analyzing computer hardware and software solutions
- Understanding of best practices regarding system security measures and business analysis techniques
- Previous project management experience
- Proven work experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (STEM)
- 8 years of relevant experience and a relevant certification can meet minimum education requirement. An additional relevant Master’s degree (or higher) is equivalent to two years of experience
- An additional relevant certification is equivalent to one year of experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of coding languages
- Knowledge of agency operating systems and databases
- Cloud certification (Azure or AWS)
- Experience in the use of Tableau, SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or its DoD equivalent or coursework
