GAM: Lead Maintenance Mechanic

This role is with KBR’s GAM, Global Asset Management group. At GAM, we provide our customers with a range of services including Regulatory and Customer Compliance of Property Systems, Import/Export Trade Compliance, Material Management, Stockrooms/Tool Cribs/Receiving, Engineering Tool Design and Rework/Repairs, Records Management, Distribution Services, Capital Asset Management, Development & Production-Equipment Maintenance, and Facilities Project Management?.

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic will:

  • Troubleshoot CNC equipment and ensure Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures are completed.
  • Support the documentation of PM completion records and procedures.
  • Repair CNC Machinery, Manual Machine and Machining Centers.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.
  • Identify and replace parts as necessary.
  • Complete testing and adjust of parts as needed.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance companies to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to minimize machine downtime.
  • In conjunction with production team, support continuous improvement plans.
  • Perform general facilities maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or 4 year degree preferred, especially within the Electrical field.
  • Must be able to read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.
  • Requires a high degree of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical knowledge and repair skills.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of CNC machine design and operation.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of and experience with electrical test equipment, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Must be able to multitask job duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 4 years of experience with Fanuc and/or Siemens CNC controls.
  • 4 years of experience with PLC troubleshooting and repair.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift items of 35-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift, stand, climb, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, stretch and carry.
  • Must be able to work while standing on lifts and ladders.
