The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Senior Software Developer to join our high-performing agile software development teams engaged on development of innovative solutions for military mission planning within Defence Aviation. As a hybrid Work-From-Home/Office role some in-person attendance is required to allow for team collaboration, networking, social events and on-site customer engagement.

Role responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high quality software in accordance with relevant standards and processes
  • Contribute to agile software development sprint events
  • Contribute to the development of business requirements into software deliverables
  • Assist with task decomposition and the estimation of work
  • Assist with system testing including performance and unit testing

Due to the classified nature of Sigma Bravo's work, all applicants must have the ability to obtain a minimum of NV1 Security Clearance (usually only granted to Australian Citizens).

To be successful in this role the following skills and experience are essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in either Engineering, Computer Science or relevant IT qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a software developer
  • Experience developing software using C#
  • Experience developing applications using Microsoft .Net Framework (WPF experience highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of Unit Testing approaches and Test-Driven Development practices as well as;
  • software implementation best practices and patterns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues

Any of the following skills and experience would be highly regarded:

  • Software architecture experience including target state architecture, object-oriented design, and multi-tier patterns (MVVM)
  • Experience developing software with C/C++
  • Previous experience working with Defence industry
  • Experience developing using an agile methodology
  • Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps
