This role is with KBR’s GAM, Global Asset Management group. At GAM, we provide our customers with a range of services including Regulatory and Customer Compliance of Property Systems, Import/Export Trade Compliance, Material Management, Stockrooms/Tool Cribs/Receiving, Engineering Tool Design and Rework/Repairs, Records Management, Distribution Services, Capital Asset Management, Development & Production-Equipment Maintenance, and Facilities Project Management?.

The Electro-Mechanical Production Technician will:

  • In consultation with other technicians, perform a wide variety of technical duties including diagnosing/troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing electrical and electronic circuits and equipment in support of production operations and electromechanical systems.
  • Work on a variety of CNC machines, lathes, mills, vacuum pumps, electronic machine controls/controllers and lasers.
  • Be creative in their approach to troubleshooting, repairing, and general maintenance.
  • Take directions from Lead Technicians and customers for equipment upgrades and other modifications.
  • Perform research on parts, equipment, or other solutions as required to assist engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Learn the production equipment software, including program parameters and operating settings and gain a solid understanding of programmable logic controllers.
  • Perform device level repairs (soldering) or replacements.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, helping with the movement of materials and equipment to work locations and setting up work sites.
  • Complete and review records.
  • Work in a production environment following all safety rules and procedures, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and Safety protocols.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of the national electric code and basic fundamentals of electricity and demonstrates the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, PLC's, repair and maintenance manuals, and detail drawings.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience or a High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 4 additional years of experience.
  • Technical Certification or higher education preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of hand tools and test equipment to troubleshoot production equipment.
  • Requires experience in testing and troubleshooting using equipment such as a multi-meter.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and climb for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience programming PLC’s.
  • Experience in plating and line cleaning.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP Plant Maintenance or other CMMS.
