DescriptionDevelops and implements effective nursing staff education using a variety of teaching techniques to enhance the quality of care delivered to designated patient populations. Essential duties include, Initiates and maintain positive relationships with patients, customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with co workers. Takes responsibility for self development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values. Provides on going clinical education in patient care areas for individuals and groups of staff. Provides consultation for specific patient care population. Collaborates with clinical care leadership to facilitate performance improvement. Provides age appropriate care to patients and families. Meet qualifications of Advanced Clinical Nurse role with progressive clinical experience in nursing. Demonstrated ability to teach, instruct clinical patient care principles. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Demonstrates skills in human relations. Demonstrates excellence in clinical nursing. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies.
Qualifications
Education/Expertise:
BSN required
Preferred education: Master’s in Nursing from an accredited program.
Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):
Registered Nurse
Certification in a specialty clinical area required. If not certified on hire, required within 1 year
BLS Required and ACLS & PALS preferred
Experience & Knowledge:
· Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in ICU unit
· Experience with education, teaching in clinical setting
