LL Bean is seeking a 2nd Shift licensed Industrial Master Electrician or Journeymen who is ready to sit for the Master exam – to work in their fast-paced, high tech Order Fulfillment Center in Freeport.  This is a full-time position with a work schedule Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:30pm. You’ll enjoy competitive pay starting at $37.00 an hour and premium pay for night shifts, great benefits, a generous employee discount and a $3,000 Sign on Bonus. Uniforms and tools provided.

Position Purpose: In this important role this person will perform all senior level electrical maintenance functions requiring advanced knowledge of electrical transmission, distribution, utilization, and control of electrical energy up to 600 volts AC. Serve as electrical safety oversight resource across the company to leaders, engineering, project managers, risk management, etc. for any concerns related to electrical safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides second level support for complex problems to all departments for electrical maintenance and problems

  • Performs preventative maintenance functions on a variety of complex industrial equipment and facilities as scheduled

  • Applies computer skills to troubleshoot and repair automated industrial PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controlled equipment

  • Install, maintain, and support complex robotics, sorting, auto-bagging, scanning and vision systems

  • Installs, upgrades, and maintains a variety of power distribution systems including main service panels, transformers, sub panels, modular furniture systems and emergency generator power distribution systems

  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots all lighting systems

  • Follows procedures and properly handles Universal Waste per state guidelines

  • Applies advanced knowledge of decision-making processes, precautionary techniques, job planning, personal protective equipment, and test equipment to recognize and avoid electrical hazards while safely performing electrical maintenance tasks

  • Acts as internal resource providing support and expertise required for projects and maintenance

  • May act as project lead 

  • May oversee the work of electrical or equipment contractors and vendors

  • Collaborates with internal clients in support of new and existing technology requirements

  • Mentor and support junior level electricians

  • Identifies electrical hazard conditions or actions that may cause injury or property damage and ensures action to abate them

  • Assures appropriate communication of issues and problems to coworkers and leadership. Collaborates with team as needed to achieve objectives. Shares expertise in support of others to build technical and diagnostic strength in the team.

  • Provides 24/7 on call coverage at designated times as required to meet business demands and off shift shut downs

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned

  • This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position. Education Level:

Vocational/Technical Degree -required to have a master electrician license  OR 2-Year Associate's Degree    required to have a master electrician license 
Years of Experience: 6 years

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensed Master Electrician required

  • Industrial electrical maintenance experience required

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to create and maintain accurate documentation

  • Able to manage work to completion by effectively prioritizing multiple work assignments

  • Knowledge and experience with NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)

  • Able to troubleshoot complex electrical controls including experience with PLC's (programmable logic controller)

  • Experience reading IEC (European) standard blueprints

  • Ability to collaborate at many levels internally and externally

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and provide guidance and support to less experienced electricians

  • Valid state driver's license required

  • Ability to operate and work in boom trucks, scissor lifts, personnel lifts, and other aerial lifts at heights in excess of 30 feet

  • Personal computer skills

  • Able to respond outside of normal working hours to support 24/7 on call rotation
