Job Description

Our client is looking for a Database Administrator to work full-time onsite in Fort Meade, Maryland.

 

Clearance

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of the company database. 
  • Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc.
  • Assist data modeling to design and implement data structures which meet the business requirement for timely, accurate data
  • Promote data quality and enforce data integrity
  • Administering database availability and performance, including incident and problem management
  • Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
  • Determine user requirements, set up and test computer databases, and coordinate changes
  • Interact with development and end-user personnel to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated databases

 

Required Qualifications

  • Security+ is required within six months of joining team
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Oracle/PeopleSoft DBA experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Understanding of and adherence to Oracle’s Best-Practices for database administration and security
  • Experience with systems administration, UNIX/Linux/Windows shell or Windows PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL, or tuning and configuration, working in a multi-project environment
  • Multi-year experience with administering Oracle, MySQL, and large enterprise arena, and significant experience with development tools and languages, such as PL/SQL, Java, Python, 
  • Experience with Oracle database 12c or higher
  • Conceptual understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery
  • Knowledge of administration or conceptual understanding of Oracle Database technologies:
  • Automated Storage Management (ASM) 
  • Data Guard
  • Flashback
  • Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Transparent Application Failover (TAF)
  • Oracle Connection Manager (OCM)
  • Patching and maintenance
  • Oracle Cloud Control (OEM)
