Our healthcare employee to member ratio is one of the lowest in the industry, so our employees can fully do their jobsFull time employees are eligible for benefitsWe have a world class environment that is beautiful year aroundThe staff takes pride in being friendly, helpful and courteous to co-workers, members and guests Enjoy our underground heated parking each day you come to work Job Responsibilities for CNA: Assure residents are given adequate assistance with personal care and oral hygieneAssist with ambulation, transferring or transporting of residents, (including pushing residents in wheelchairs) to the dining rooms, activities and/or various areas of Prairieview as necessaryFollow established standards of nursing practice and implements facility policies and proceduresListen to resident and family concerns and initiate corrective actions and communicate concerns and outcomes to the NurseProvide support and encouragement to all residents to remain as independent as possibleAssist with serving meals and beverages, supervising dining rooms during meal times to ensure resident safetyObserve infection control proceduresComplete resident rounds as assigned, reporting any resident care issues to the Nurse on dutyAssist with orientation of new residents to the facilityMaintain accurate records of each resident's daily care on the appropriate documents, and in accordance with state and federal regulationsMaintain confidentiality of resident records and facility informationAttend all in-service classes as assignedCome to work in a clean neat uniform, and consistently present a professional appearanceCome to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctualityQualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: CNA certificationExperience working in assisted living, home health or long-term care environmentHigh school diploma or equivalentMust possess, or be able to obtain current CPR certificationMust be familiar with the Rights of the Resident, the definition of Resident Abuse, and the reporting protocol of possible Resident AbuseDemonstrate excellent listening skills and communicate effectively while conveying patience and understandingTreat all customers with dignity and respect and establishes a trusting relationship with them, while maintaining confidencesComplete all appropriate documentation accurately and timelyCommunicate any allegation of resident abuse immediately to NurseMust have an adequate understanding of English and be able to speak and write it wellMust be able to work independently, as well as a team member, with a positive, pro-active attitudeFollow all policies and procedures of Prairieview at The GarlandsPhysical Requirements for CNA: Must be able to manually lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequentlyMust be able to assist in transferring residents who weigh in excess of 50 lbs. occasionallyMust be able to tolerate long periods of walking, bending and standingMust be able to push customers in wheelchairs frequently for brief periods of time
