Certified Medical Assistant/CMA - Internal Medicine Residency ClinicFast-paced, high-volume clinic looking for a top skilled CMA**Sign-On for Eligible New Hires**Work location:1275 West Terrell Avenue, Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours:Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmInternal Medicine Residency Clinic Highlights:Be a part of our clinic that offers the opportunity to strengthen your skills by working with Internal Medicine Residents in a rewarding, educational environmentIf you thrive working in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinic and can handle multiple projects simultaneously, this is the place for you!Join our team members who have strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and support each other thru collaborative teamworkWe pride ourselves in being compassionate and empathic to our patients and team Here's What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent (required)CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)1 year Medical Assistant experience (preferred)Primary care experience (strongly preferred)Phlebotomy experience (strongly preferred)Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)ACLS or BCLS (preferred)Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injectionsBasic computer skills using medical management application systemsEffectively communicate with staff and patientsThorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviationsDemonstrate sound judgement in emergency situationsTake appropriate action in urgent circumstancesMaintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patientsPossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismWhat You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant ProcessPerforms general patient care by following established standards and procedures.Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG.Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
