IT System Administrator TS/SCI

1. Description: KBR is seeking an IT Systems Administrator supporting the Department of Defense at Landover, MD. Help build and maintain this global network.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance such as general computer tasks, backup/restore, application loads, disk utilization, system loading and monitoring
• Detect, isolate, document, quickly report, and resolve system outages or problems encountered during operations of the operational system baseline
• Collect diagnostic data describing the environment at the time of the failure, restore system operation, develop workarounds, and other activities necessary for recovery of a system
• Perform system performance trend analysis as required
• Support system engineering as required for ongoing analysis and integration efforts
• Coordinate IT system installations, maintenance, and upgrades
• Implement and support incident and problem management; provide metrics data to determine trends; and recommend actions to improve performance
• Provide Enterprise Operations and Datacenter support services for desktops, servers, and peripherals.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support to enterprise end users through a centralized and virtual Help/Service Desk.
• Available for mid- and swing-shift work
• + Requires 2 to 5 years with BS/BA or 0 to 2 years with MS/MA/MBA or 8 to 10 years with no degree.
• Datacenter or enterprise operations administration
• One or more Operating System environments (Windows / UNIX / Linux), including installation and patching
• Good communication skills to effectively and accurately exchange information
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Contribute to completion of project milestones under the specific guidance of program leadership
• ITIL 4 Foundations certification desired; Other ITIL Foundations certification desired
• Professional-level MS, Linux, VMware, or Cloud certifications desired
• Proven experience in desktop administration
• Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+ CE)
• Experience interacting with end users to determine problem, classify level, priority and nature of the problems and systems and to the appropriate specialist.
• Possess a wide range of skills and knowledge in hardware, applications, and networks
