Purpose:
Leads all personnel and activities related to operations and production of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers and supervisors.

Location: Nashville, TN 37217

Reports to: Vice President/General Manager-Nashville

Exemption Classification: Exempt

Minimum Eligibility Requirements (Skills):
Ability to promote the company strategy, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to manage tactical day-to-day production activities to ensure the attainment of goals consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements;
Have problem solving skills, ensuring all internal and external client needs are met in producing a quality, on time product.
Have the ability to manage the budgetary process, both in dollars and in ensuring timely shipments.
Ability to manage production capacity, and lead rapid ramp up of production capacity; and direct and manage operations for multiple shift workforce resources;
Ability to identify and recommend and implement quality, cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
Ability to plans and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Ability to develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

Essential Job Functions:
Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, production cycle, production costs, and image.
Ensures established costs, quality, and delivery metrics are met.
Provides input to the development of product strategy.
Establishes production standards, develops budget and cost controls, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, material and equipment.
Reviews production and operating reports, (including efficiency, in-direct, overtime, etc.) and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Determine, recommend and implement capacity and facility expansion programs under an agreed upon budget and timetable.
Identify and recruit departmental personnel required to support growth plans.
Insures work/schedule requirements are created and communicated to all shifts.
Responsible for performance reviews, interviewing/selecting candidates and daily communication.
Maintains an organized, clean and safe manufacturing area.
Prepares all manufacturing jobs (fixtures, cutting tools, programs, etc.) prior to manufacturing need. Ensuring machines are running and not waiting on any requirements to support set-up or run mode.
Ensures accuracy and effectiveness of corrective actions from NCR's.
Support continuous improvement and quality improvement activities of existing product.
Keeps current on technology affecting department.
Writes procedures and work instructions for departmental responsibilities.
Interprets drawings/models having GD&T requirements and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret prints, mylars, travelers, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set up procedures, control settings, machining methods and process sequence requirements.
Follows procedures for nonconformance parts and assist with cause and corrective actions.
Insures compliance / adheres to Epicor/Paycor data collection requirements.
Interactions with customers via Program Review presentations, Weekly Status Reviews and Quality Reviews. Able to prepare customer presentations as required for discussion.
Performs other duties as assigned by the company Vice President & General Manager.

Education/Experience:
This position requires a BS in Business Management (minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in operation management). Management in an aerospace manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Minimum 7 years experience in roles leading CNC machining and/or mechanical assembly operations.
Minimum 3 years experience using Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing principles and tools.
Expertise with Microsoft Office Products and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will manage Production Managers, Production Supervisors, CNC Programming personnel, and Engineers, as well as the organizations reporting to them.

Promote a safe, clean and organized work environment.
Wear required safety equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, rubber gloves, etc.)
Report all work related injuries to supervisor as soon as possible.
Resolve safety issues and proactively address safety concerns to prevent workplace injury and ensure compliance to all safety rules.
