Schedule:

  • Part time: 0.3 FTE (1-12 hr night shift/wk)
  • Weekend Requirement- 3 shifts in 6 wks (choosing from Sat & Sun nights)
  • Holiday Requirement
  • Must be able to commit to at least 2 days a week through orientation
  • Ability to self-schedule after training!

Orthopedics:

Orthopedics is a specialized surgical unit within the Medical Surgical service line. We see a wide variety of orthopedic patients such as total shoulder, knee, and hip replacements, orthopedic trauma patients, and the hip fracture population. Our coworkers work with patients that have surgical traction, Buck's traction, external fixators, drains, immobilizers, multiple IV medications, continuous pain infusions, and remote telemetry. Orthopedics is also the only unit to care for post-surgical gastric bypasses and gastric sleeve patients. The unit will additionally admit medical surgical overflow patients, when needed, and work with NG tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tubes, ostomies, wound vacs, and central lines.

Qualifications:
  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
  • License: Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
