Job Summary of the Echo Technologist
According to unit and hospital policies and procedures, the Echo Sonographer is responsible for the performance of non-invasive vascular procedures including but not limited to carotid, venous, and arterial doppler procedures. This position works closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies while also promoting optimal unit operations. The Echo Sonographer adheres to the customer service standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
Qualifications of the Echo Technologist

EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited cardiac sonography program

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year minimum experience as a Sonographer or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing all aspects of adult/pediatric echocardiography and vascular procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to precept new employees and employees not meeting expectations

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • BLS (CPR) certification
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
  • Preferred: Registered Vascular Technologist
