Job Summary of the PRN Echo Vascular Technologist

The Sonographer (ECHO) performs the daily routine/critical care and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the Physician. The Sonographer (ECHO) performs required diagnostic testing, conducts basic equipment maintenance, quality control measures, reporting of abnormal findings to physician (if immediate attention is indicated), and other administrative, technical or supervisory tasks as might be required.

Qualifications of the PRN Echo Vascular Technologist 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate or equivalent, plus one year of technical training including courses related to cardiology
• One year of experience in cardiology or related education equivalent to one year experience
• Graduate of approved AMA program
• One year of hospital-based sonography experience preferred

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

• RDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist through ARDMS or RVS – Registered Vascular Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
