X-Ray and Bone Density Technologist, Steven Rosner MD, Full-Time, Day Shift

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Calibrate machines and maintain records of calibration over time
Explain scan procedure to patients
Maintain equipment, supplies, and work are in accordance to departmental guidelines
Maintain standards of professional care to enhance quality of service
Maintain patient information and test files/databases
Prepare bone densitometry equipment for tests including the archiving of pre and post test data
Prepare bone densitometry testing as per order/requisition and standards protocol
Interviews patient to confirm/obtain history, assess patient history, and order scans
Properly position patients for scanning
Enter clinical data into computerized databases
Use ALARA technique for x-rays to avoid overexposure
Analyze/review complete scans for requisite information and body areas as per protocol
Document positions or analysis problems for interpreting for physicians to review
Will aid physicians as needed
Enter, maintain, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and filing claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Greet, prepare, and take patients to examination room, this includes:
Take patients’ vital signs, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, and medical history.
Provide patients with privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.
Assisting the Practice Physician during examination and may be called upon to explain medical procedures to patients. This may include, instructing patients about medication and special diets under the direction of the physician.
Responsible for sterilization and preparation of medical instruments. Making sure patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients.
Other office and clinical responsibilities, assigned by supervisor or Physician, as deemed necessary
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of X-ray Compliance
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Job Requirements:
Radiology Tech experience
Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
