Position Summary:

Responsible for completing all day-to-day cleaning and housekeeping of office, warehouse and outdoor grounds, and equipment. This position will train on maintenance, repairs, and help, when needed in all areas of the maintenance, production floor, and warehousing areas.

Responsibilities:

  • In charge of general housekeeping and janitorial tasks.
  • Remove trash staged by departments and transport to waste receptacles.
  • Ensure supply and stock of restroom/breakroom supplies.
  • Property grounds keeping (mowing, weed whacking, paving, sweeping).
  • In charge of general snow removal and ice melt applications in winter months.
  • Work with Department Supervisors to identify housekeeping needs.
  • Complete basic repairs to facility infrastructure.
  • Perform monthly documented checks for fire extinguishers, eye wash, showers. Report deficiencies to Management, and correct deficiencies.
  • Assist maintenance with rigging and transportation of maintenance supplies.
  • Operate forklift for assistance, as needed.
  • Basic IT hardware maintenance (such as low voltage and data cable running and connecting).
  • Contribute to a 5S environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a janitorial and/or entry-level maintenance related position within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Must multi-task and prioritize job assignments and work independently.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and solve practical problems.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics.
  • Operate a Forklift
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blue prints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Willing to learn or able to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
  • Willing to learn or able to perform or learn basic plumbing and perform low voltage electrical tasks
  • Must perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties to the required standard.
