Our Turbine Engine Mechanic Training Program is a 12 week comprehensive paid training program that provides format, structure and standards for employee training & development. We have a 'learn-by-doing' philosophy so you will be frequently moving between theory, lab and instructor led practical on-engine training.
Upon completion of the program, you will be assigned to one of our engine programs in San Antonio.
What you'll learn:
- Repair and overhaul of gas turbine engines
- Inspection of engine modules and engine components
- Safety practices and aviation regulations
Requirements for the ideal candidate include: - High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 2 years job related training/experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine proper operating conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a high pace environment.
SkillBridge Specific Information: This is an unpaid fellowship through the?Department of Defense (DoD)?SkillBridge?Program.?The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from StandardAero and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of StandardAero but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility Requirements: Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
