**Warehouse Associate I**

**(Regular Full Time)**

The purpose of this position is to maintain consistent flow in the distribution center. The primary duties include receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment and products within the distribution center. Performing daily audits of warehouse locations and maintaining accurate inventory within the warehouse, with the goal being to achieve and maintain inventory accuracy that matches our customer's expectations. Un-boxing and re-boxing furniture along with organizing and cleaning of the preparation area for a safe working environment. Assembling and inspecting furniture for defects, flaws, and vendor discrepancies in order to conform to the quality specifications by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

**INVENTORY RESPONSIBILITES**

* Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to racks and storage areas or to other designated areas in the distribution facility

* Opens bales, crates, and other containers

* Ensures that all work orders are pulled accurately and loaded in a safe and secure manner

* Visually examines and feels surface or Woodstock or products to discover defects such as mismatched veneer, dents, splits, blemishes, loose and uneven joints, holes, and faulty sanding

* Verifies conformance of Woodstock or products to dimensional specifications

* Responsible for all product quality accountable for damage created due to mishandling of product

* Un-boxing and re-boxing furniture for technician inspection

* Stages product for delivery, assembles product per manufacturer instructions

* Measure and cut rolled goods accurately (carpet, pad and underlayment)

* Ensure installers have correct product by checking pick list before loading installers' vehicle out of designed loading dock

* Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, pick sheets, and other requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and distributed

* Uses computer and RF to enter records, must be able to read a computerized pick sheet

* Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code

* Fills requisitions, work orders, or request for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas

* Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, carts, shelves, and conveys orders to packing station or shipping areas

* Marks, receives, and tags materials with identifying information. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed

* Arrange and coordinate transfers accurately recording product shipped out/received into the distribution center

* Remain proficient on all warehouse equipment including computer knowledge to perform product reservation, untagged product, order verification, product locations, scan guns, reports etc

**MAINTENANCE**

* General maintenance such as: cleaning, washing, scrubbing, sweeping, garbage removal, equipment maintenance, and up keep of the distribution facility

* Clearing snow from sidewalks and all fire exits, cleaning parking lot

* Work outside loading, shoveling, sweeping, etc

* Trash disposal and appropriate handling of discarded products and materials

* Safely operate cardboard baler and other garbage equipment (Must be 18 years or older to operate machinery)

* Loads and unloads trucks, ensures trucks are clean and well maintained

**SAFETY**

* Lifting, pushing, and pulling 70-200 pounds, alone or in a team

* Operate mechanical equipment inside such as air compressors, lifts, tuggers, and fork-lifts

* Ability to work at heights of 40 feet or greater

* Standing for seven hours or greater

* Maintain a clean warehouse by immediately identifying returned goods from installers, remnants, etc., and storing properly

* Keep cutting materials organized and stored safely

* Adheres to safe lifting techniques, follows proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors, participates in departmental stretching program, and overall maintains a safe working environment

* Ability to work as a team or independently for most of the day is required

Education and/or Experience Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and or training. Basic computer knowledge is required to punch in and out, look up inventory, check email, and other work related functions.

Language Skills Fluent in the English language, in both verbal and written formats. This position requires skills to read and interpret documents such as instructions, correspondence, memos, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Candidates must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and possess the skills to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of our organization.

Mathematical Skills Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also requires skills to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Miscellaneous Stock picker, tugger, & sit-down forklift certifications (training provided).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data or figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, and using measurement devices.

Reasoning Ability Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
