Applicants for staff positions do not need to have a barrier to employment to be eligible for these roles.*Peckham Inc. - Vocational Services SpecialistSUMMARYThe Vocational Services Specialist provides crisis management, vocational services, case management, and human resources support to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. This position provides vocational counseling and coaching to team members to assist them in maintaining employment and providing applicable community resource referrals. The Vocational Services Specialist also provides consultation to Peckham staff to maximize the quality of on-site vocational rehabilitation services. This role may require travel throughout the Phoenix Valley for training purposes.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide intensive crisis intervention, support, and counseling for participants as needed and make recommendations for needed interventions to promote vocational successProvide person-centered vocational support to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employmentDeliver one-on-one counseling, coaching, crisis intervention, and/or training with program participants when needed and/or requestedWork to identify strategies to help team member work through everyday crisis and workplace accommodations for program participants to assist them in maximizing their vocational successProcess program-specific intake documents and maintain electronic case files for program participantsConduct orientation sessions for new participantsProvide person-centered case management services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employmentAssist program participants in developing an individualized program plan in consideration of their vocational goals, strengths, interests, functional limitations, and potential utilization of assistive technology and other job accommodationsWork to identify strategies and appropriate assistive technology solutions for program participants to assist them in maximizing their vocational successOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProcess initial intake documents; Develop and maintain electronic case filesProvide human resources support to program participants, including new hire orientation, FMLA management, interactive process for accommodations and support with corrective action as neededCommunicate with community agencies and provide information about community resources to enhance support services for program participantsWork with an interdepartmental team to monitor participants' progress and enhance the quality of services providedResearch and build resources and team knowledge to help Team Members navigate community resources and internal resources so they can develop independence and self-sustainabilityClearly and accurately document in case filesComplete required paperwork in a timely mannerMay attend community and Peckham events throughout the yearMaintain a safe and clean work environmentAssist in the training of people with disabilities as neededPromote Peckham's vision, values, and services with the highest integrity and ethics to all customers and stakeholdersMiscellaneous related duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.MIMIMUM QUALFICIATIONS Bachelor's degreeAbility to work through everyday crisis management with team membersAbility to understand both the needs of the business line and the needs of the individual on your caseloadExcellent interpersonal skills and enjoy cultural diversity in the workplaceAbility to research and build resources through community partners and Peckham programsThis position requires passing and maintaining federal and state security background checks.
