The Rehabilitation Technician II takes a pro-active approach to best serve and assist in the care and treatment of patients under the supervision of the Physical or Occupational Therapist and in the organizational and clerical duties of the department. This position assists providers in the clinical care and treatment of patients and provides general front and back-office administrative support to professional staff. The Rehabilitation Technician II must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care within their scope of practice and according to organizational policies, accrediting, and licensing bodies. This position works in a team model to improve the patient's experience, create better communication and access to care, and support processes that will improve patient satisfaction.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Encompasses Rehabilitation Technician I duties and responsibilities. •Trains new Rehab Techs in job duties and standard operating procedures. •Performs and assists with treatment as directed by and with minimal supervision of a licensed physical/occupational therapist or licensed physical therapist assistant.•Completes inventory lists for ordering of supplies and orders supplies for the rehab clinic through EMR as directed by the Supervisor or Manager•Collects and collates data for quality initiatives such as handwashing and weekly and monthly inspection checklists to maintain and monitor compliance of all Total Joint Commission and other regulatory body compliance. •Assists in the development of departmental objectives, policies and procedures and program planning through written/oral suggestions at departmental meetings.•Completes, maintains and reviews clinic temperature monitoring, cleaning, and equipment monitoring & maintenance log book daily. Appropriately files historical logs per clinic procedures. •Completes clerical duties on a regular basis, including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling initial and follow up appointments, pre-registering/registering patients, collects copayments, copying/ scanning and/or chart reviews, as deemed necessary under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager.
