Job DetailsJob LocationLSC Raleigh Office - Raleigh, NCSalary Range$22.00 - $23.00 HourlyRefugee Case ManagerThe objective of the Reception and Placement Case Manager position is to ease client's transition to life in the US and assist them along the path to self-sufficiency. The R&P Case Manager will provide extensive case management to newly arriving refugees receiving Reception and Placement Services. Case Manager will link clients to available resources to meet immediate and long-term needs; administer limited financial assistance for eligible clients within the R&P period.Essential Functions:1. Assist new refugee arrivals in the navigation of and enrollment in social services and public assistance including education, ESL, SNAP, TANF, opening bank accounts, establishing health/mental health assistance and assessments, establishing social security, and other services as needed upon arrival.2. Schedule and assist with appointments for newly arrived refugees.3. Takes initiative to ensure provision of professional, confidential, culturally- and socio-economically-sensitive case management services to clients.4. Conduct airport pick-up, intake, orientation, home visits, client appointments and other tasks as outlined in the U.S. Dept of State Cooperative Agreement.4. Maintain applications, records, and all required documentation according to program procedures; submit in a timely fashion and manage deadlines.5. Develop, document and track client budgets for each case detailing expenditures and dates.6. Assist is securing housing for refugees and ensure that housing is fully furnished, safe and sanitary and in compliance with safety guidelines. Support Housing Coordinator with apartment set ups as needed.7. Develop individualized plan to help newly arrived refugee families meet their needs and goals.8. Maintain case documentation and grant reporting data on clients and services in accordance with contractual requirements and HIPAA guidelines.9. Prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery of core services and timely reporting.10. Follow all Lutheran Services Carolinas policies and procedures.11. Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, co-sponsors and volunteers, local agencies and organizations, and funders.12. Transportation of client(s) in personal vehicle is required.13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree or two years equivalent education and experience in human services field.Experience: Previous experience working with refugees or especially vulnerable populations preferred, but not required.Specific skills/abilities:•Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.•Proficient reading, writing, and speaking skills in the English language.•Ability to navigate computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).•Awareness and sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics is required.•Ability to work as part of a diverse team and sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences.•A willingness to comply with extensive and rigorous documentation demands.
