Description:POSITION SUMMARY The sanitation worker is required to work in an environment that is wet, very humid and undergoes extreme temperature changes, from very hot to very cold. Due to the changing environment, a worker must constantly be aware of the effects of these changes. The sanitation worker will also be working around large processing equipment in which chemicals will be used to complete the sanitation process. The sanitation worker must be able to work as a team along with other members of the crew, under stressful conditions and be flexible and willing to perform varying tasks per the supervisor's instructions and in accordance with all safety guidelines mandated by the employer.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES•Frequently lifts / moves hoses, equipment, chemical containers weighing 20 - 25 lbs. throughout each and every work shift•Organize pans and carts: replace sanitize equipment in appropriate location•Wear employer-specified protective gear, including three pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc. (some of which to be supplied by employer)•Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear)•Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time•Perform all tasks safely and in a manner that will not create or pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of the sanitation worker or any other person•Clean floors, walls, carts, service are floors, and related facilities and equipment•Implements all GMP procedure that related to cleanliness food safety•Pre-rinse, wash and sanitize equipment per company standards•Environment is wet, very humid and temperature might changes, from very hot to very cold•Employees must follow the company policy on Food Safety, Sanitation and GMPRequirements:QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSThe qualifications and requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required to perform this job successfully:•High School diploma / GED desired or equivalent•Experience in food industry environment•Available to work 8 - 10 hours shift•Bilingual English / Spanish is a PlusAdditional Info:PREFERRED SKILLSLANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions. Ability to distinguish and identify different products by reading labels.MATH ABILITY: Ability to count to 60. Ability to do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to write numbers legibly.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand or walk, and to reach with hands and arms. Manual dexterity and utilization of both hands and all fingers is required. The employee is frequently required to twist, bend. The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds with the aid of a team member. The employee must occasionally push/pull manual or occasionally expected to push/pull equipment on wheels up 25 to 80 pounds.
