Senior Sales Engineer - Military veterans preferred

Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Sales Engineer role is responsible for designing and managing a smaller project and serves as a technical resource for customer account development through engineering expertise, estimating, and other functions to perform design-build and other engineering-centric services. The candidate will be under the direction of Professional Engineers and will have the opportunity to work toward professional licensure. This role will directly support the engineering and project management needs for our Philadelphia Division. What you'll do:Serves as a technical resource in the project and plays a role in developing, proposing, designing, and project managing the assigned project, from inception to closeout.Proactively resolves issues, problems and provides information and advice as needed.Develops client relationships by providing project status updates to clients and management. Participates in project meetings with internal departments.Develops budget analysis reports, cost, and revenue projections, change orders, and other reports as necessary for assigned projects.Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.Works with applicable internal and external stakeholders to ensure Code compliance.What you'll need to be successful:Solid financial acumen, including project budgets and analysis and revenue projectionsPractical understanding of mechanical system design, including load calculations, equipment selections, airflow, hydronics, steam systems, etc.Ability to effectively interact with customers, field staff, management, etc.Solid project management skillsStrong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skillsExcellent multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skillsAbility to write clear and concise proposalsWhat you bring to the table:Bachelor's Degree in EngineeringMinimum 5 years experience in EngineeringProven effective project Management and estimating experienceSolid MS Office Suite experience, including ExcelIntermediate - Advanced Revit and AutoCAD skillsYOU Matter PEOPLE FIRST: BUILDING TALENT BY DESIGN At Southland we aspire to build a workforce that's as diverse as the people who occupy the buildings we design, build and maintain.
