Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Overview: The role of the Sanitation Professional is a key position within the Facilities Department at Bread Alone. The work of the Facilities Department is what allows the team at Bread Alone to be able to come to work in a clean, safe and comfortable environment. The department primarily focuses on both Sanitation and Food Safety for the entire Bakery. This role requires a focus on detail, the ability to complete repetitive tasks over a long period of time and the ability to work with a team. Cleaners perform a range of duties to keep the Bakery clean, such as mopping, sweeping, dish washing and setting the Production Department stations up for the day's bake. You will also be responsible for performing routine check-ins to check that spaces like restrooms are always sanitary. The Cleaning Professional focuses on completing all assigned tasks, while maintaining all mandatory safety and sanitation standards throughout the building and grounds.Hours: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm *We strive to make schedules as manageable as possible to encourage and allow work-life balance. Join us as we collectively strive for excellence in aligning our aspirations with meaningful actions.RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities:Gain a solid working knowledge of Bread Alone's facility, safety & sanitation policies and standards to ensure all areas of the Bakery are in compliance with the Food Safety program.Responsible for providing and maintaining quality sanitation standards within the cleaning specifications.Adhere to safety and sanitation specific checklists addressing daily tasks and procedures.Operate large and small pieces of equipment and machinery according to instructions (power washer, vacuum, commercial dishwasher, cannon carts).Manual and mechanical sweeping, mopping, scrubbing of facility flooring as assigned to the shift.Perform end-of-day cleanup and breakdown. Leaving each specified area clean and orderly.Daily refuse removal adhering to composting, recycling, and garbage policies.Proper chemical use, chemical storage, equipment usage, and equipment storage.Recognizing and reporting any facility and equipment maintenance needs appropriately to the available leadership team.Job Requirements:Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accuratelyAble to to work in a physically demanding fast-paced environmentAble to tolerate exposure to high levels of heat and coldAble to twist and bend repeatedly for long periods of timeRespect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplaceAble to pull, push, move and lift to waist level and carry awkward and shifting weights up to 50 poundsAble to work with, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner according to Bread Alone guidelinesAble and willing to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform as required per company policyWilling to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices which includes but are not limited to: Removing any visible or exposed piercings and body jewelry, personal accessories, false nails & refraining from makeup at work (ie. mascara or heavy foundation, lipstick)The Bakery is open 363 days a year and team members must be willing to work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekendsJob Type: Full-time, non-exemptCompensation Details: Bread Alone is deeply committed to ethically balancing the demands of the business and paying a living wage to all those who contribute to our success.
