The Inspector Packer will report to the production supervisor and will be responsible for hand packing a variety of different products by hand in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in fast-paced environments. He/she must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.
****Responsibilities:****
* Collaborates closely with other departments and teams
* Ability to work at a fast pace
* Hand packing a wide variety of products and materials
* Removing product from the line and visually inspecting to assure quality standards
* Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
* Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.
* Perform all duties in support of Sonocos quality and safety policies.
* Helping out other departments as needed
****Requirements:****
* Possess a get it done attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Must have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
* Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused.
* ****Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed**** .
* Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
* Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
* Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
* No prior manufacturing experience required.
