**Description**

The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have an opportunity available in our National Smallwares Division for a detail oriented, eager and passionate **Sales Assistant** in Columbus, Ohio. The Sales Assistant provides support for Sales Representatives and generates revenue growth of existing customers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

* Provide exceptional customer support, respond to customer issues in a timely

and thorough manner

* Coordinate, manage and create new store openings and roll-out orders for existing customers as well as on time deliveries with transportation

* Create and update master quotes and store specific quotes for new store

openings

* Perform customer check-ins

* Review inventory status for openings and roll-out orders, work with

purchasing to ensure stock is available by required dates

* Review orders on hold and release as necessary

* Review back-orders for key accounts

* New item set ups and forecasting modifications

* Sample requests for customers

* Product sourcing and pricing new items

* All general resupply orders, hard copy customer POs, and drop ship

orders given to customer service for entry into our system. Follow up on

critical orders.

* R/A and B/As for resupply, openings and roll-outs given to customer

service to process

* Maintain accounts as assigned and identify opportunities for growth

* Coordinate advertising efforts and maintain customer mailing lists,

prepare information to be sent to customers (i.e. catalogs, flyers, price

lists, new customer set up information)

* Identify or suggest new products as requested are available and confirm

adequate inventory exists for client needs

* Detect and resolve service deficiencies reported by customer service

representatives or by clients

* Prepare proposals in response to RFPs

* Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Companys

delivery schedules

* Prepare reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts

* Manage inventory issues with each customer

* Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.

* Investigate and resolve customer problems

* Develop marketing plan to increase sales for each customer

* Quote prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders

obtained

**Qualifications and Education**

Must be customer focused with strong organizational skills. Must have an aptitude for problem

solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should have knowledge of SAP,

Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Must be able to travel when required.

* Bachelor's degree preferred Or, one - two years related experience or training,

or equivalent combination of education and experience

* 2 years' prior sales or Customer Service experience, that

includes foodservice or foodservice supplies

* Current Drivers License which must meet eligibility requirements of corporate insurance carrier with

driving record
