Manager of Logistics - St. Louis, MO - $95K to $120K
Location: St. Louis, MO
Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 (based on experience) + robust benefits package
 
Our client is ready to add a Logistics Manager to their team. If you have experience planning and executing international transportation for raw and finished goods, this could be an opportunity for you.   
 
Overview
The Manager of Logistics works closely with the Procurement, Projects, and Sales departments to create timely, cost-effective import and/or exportation of raw materials and finished goods. The individual is responsible for handling the technical details of international transportation – multiple modes, complex documentation, varying customs regulations, and transporting over-dimensional finished materials worldwide. And building relationships with logistics intermediaries. About 10 – 15% of travel is required by car or plane. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Manages Logistics Coordinators and assignments
  • Manages the performance of all domestic and international carriers, freight forwarders, and freight brokers
  • Ensures compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import/export activity.
  • Evaluates, on a project basis, trade-offs between modes of transportation, transportation costs, and service levels
  • Communicates risks, contingencies, and supply chain issues to executives
  • Managing department personnel to ensure on-time deliveries of components
  • Supports the Sales department by developing logistics strategies and processes for entering new and existing markets globally
Required knowledge and experience 
  • Knowledge of international commerce and customs/trade regulations. Market Conditions – pricing, carrier availability, deliveries, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in bulk break logistics
  • Analytical accounting and basic math
  • Experience communicating with executives about risks, contingencies, and supply chain issues that arise
  • Strategic planning skills and out-of-the-box solutions
Formal education 
  • Four-year college education
  • Experience 5 – 8 years
