**Description**

Algonquin Bridge designs, manufactures and assembles prefabricated steel bridge products and crossing solutions. We are seeking a **Forklift Operator/Shipper Receiver** to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in our facility in Thorndale, Ontario.

**Responsibilities:**

* Operate lifting devices (forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams, swivel hooks)

* Manually load/unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms and lifting devices

* Accurately ship and receive product

* Inventory control including accurate documentation

* Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment

* Accurately weigh and document materials

* Provide production data on tags or labels

* Use forklift and overhead crane to move bridge materials

* Participate in clean-up and maintenance

* Perform the handling duties of counting, weighing and sorting

* Receive materials and ensure they are moved to the appropriate manufacturing cells

* Move finished goods to their proper inventory locations

* Assist with inventory processes and confirm inventory transactions are complete

* Work with carriers to assist in the loading of materials for shipment

* Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Minimum of 1 5 years relevant experience

* Basic use of MS office and ERP systems

* Forklift operator license

* Must possess a valid G provincial drivers license

* Experience operating a crane is an asset

* Knowledge of inventory control systems for material handling.

* Capable of understanding key processes in the department

* Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in material handling methodology.

* Strong oral and written English language communication skills.

* Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and balance conflicting priorities.

* Sense of urgency with excellent attention to detail.
