Industrial Engineer

Overview:

Plans plant, office, and production facilities and equipment layouts; determines the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

Responsibilities:
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Determines manufacturing equipment capacities and identifies any constraints.
Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Develops management systems for cost analysis, financial planning and job evaluation.
Develops Master Scheduling through the ERP system.
Estimates labor standards. Provides labor quotes to support new business and customer changes.
Provides shop labor headcount requirements.
Maintain system standard hour accuracy.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of related experience. Industrial Engineering or Production Operations Engineering Degree is preferred.
Must have experience planning plant, office and production facilities and equipment layouts based on efficiency.
Must have the ability to use historical data as well as most efficient Industrial Engineering techniques to prepare estimates for company proposals, and be able to present in a written reports format and oral presentations.
The individual must possess outstanding communication skills, and must be able to work independently and with other engineering disciplines and production managers and all levels of management.
Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite products.
Must be able to read blueprints. Working knowledge of CATIA is a plus.
Six-sigma training is desirable.
