**Job Description**
* Pull customer orders and transport to staging area
* L oad and u n load material to flatbed trailers
* Identify damage , count shortages and other deficiencies with product
* Inspect forklift equipment before and after use and identify any items needing repair
* Comply with all company policies and procedures
* Participate in company training programs
* Assist other staff members when needed
* Perform cycle counts and other inventory-related tasks
* Perform daily maintenance to ensure a clean, safe working environment
* Perform various other duties and special projects as assigned

**Forklift Operator** **R** **equirements and** **Q** **ualifications**
* High school diploma
* 2-3 years experience as forklift operator or similar role
* Attention to detail
* Dependable and on time
* Ability to work some Saturdays during busy season
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand/sit for long periods of time
* Ability to work well with others and share ideas
* Good time-management skills
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* Previous experience in the lumber or building materials industry preferred but will consider all applicants with at least 3 years experience in forklift operation
* **Pre-employment requirements: May include a personality and/or math assessment, drug test, background check and reference check at company cost
**Physical Demands:**
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand s or finger s , handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, see, hear and walk during the course of employment
* The employee will regularly sit to operate a forklift
* Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.
* Must have a good sense of balance; good hand-eye coordination; be able to assess weights and judge distances and heights
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
* Must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season .
Salary: $14 an hour
