Our work depends on System Support Specialist joining our team to provide Full Spectrum SERE Level C Instruction and instructional support services at Fort Novosel, AL. The mission of the United States Army Full Spectrum SERE Level C Course is to ensure each student graduates with the confidence and appropriate proficiency level to employ SERE and individual Personnel Recovery (PR) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) necessary to survive and return with honor, regardless of the circumstances of isolation.

HOW A SYSTEM SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Tasks include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Provide user-level maintenance and troubleshooting support for all information and communications systems used by the U.S. Army SERE School, as well as provide IT Account management of approx. 45 Government and 95 Contractor personnel.
  • Track Cyber Awareness training, assist with log-in issues and account lockouts, CAC issues, replacement issues.
  • In-processing of all new users and assisting with pin codes and passwords.
  • Provide preventive/routine maintenance and repair services for all existing and replacement for computer-based media, cameras, microphones, video cable, audio-visual equipment, and Ethernet based networking devices and switches, as needed.
  • Test specialized electronic equipment for measuring Radio Frequency signals, fiber optic signals, audio circuit testing, Ethernet testing and video signal over coax cable.
  • Maintain all types of low voltage systems, including but not limited to audio-visual equipment such as audio sound reinforcement systems, audio-visual remote-control systems in classrooms and cabling infrastructure.
  • Required to support the audio/visual system and special training areas.
  • Maintain security systems which may include surveillance CCTV systems.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on the software and hardware.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Associate Degree in Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • Required Experience: 1+ years of relevant work experience
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • IT/AV personnel shall demonstrate documented successful experience, of similar size and scope, for this respective position.
    • Must be computer literate (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Clearance Level: Secret clearance is required to start
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ and any MSCE Role Based Certification required
  • Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Must possess a proven ability to plan, organize and develop schedules and milestones for program goals, and monitor progress in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken.
    • Must ensure the adherence to the professional standards of behavior IAW with Contractor's QCP and all applicable Army, TRADOC, and Fort Novosel regulations, and U.S. Army SERE School SOP and policies.
    • Must refrain from conduct, on- or off-duty, that brings discredit and undue scrutiny onto the SERE program.
