Job Summary and Qualifications

• The Operating Room Technician demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments and principals of sterile technique. 
• The Operating Room Technician anticipates the needs of the surgical suite within the scope of the position’s competencies with the use of critical thinking. 
• The Operating Room Technician adheres to hospital policies and procedures, is supervised by the Registered Nurse, and collaborates with the surgical team to improve customer satisfaction. 
• The Operating Room Technician is a supportive role and will be implemented, as the needs of the department require. 
• Duties include room setup, draping, passing of instruments, and retracting. 

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate from Surgical Technician Program 
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Minimum of one year of surgery experience preferred
