The Role

As a product owner for Genedata Biopharma (and R&D-related systems e.g., SDMS/ELN), you will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the features and requirements of the platform, in close collaboration with our customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, such as Scientists. You will also work with our agile development teams to ensure that the product vision is translated into high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the internal customers in line with biopharmaceutical industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies. 

 

Responsibilities 
 

  • Define and maintain the product backlog, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Genedata Biopharma (and R&D-related systems e.g., SDMS/ELN). 

  • Align the product roadmap with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. 
     

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and trends for Genedata Biopharma (and R&D-related systems e.g., SDMS/ELN). 

  • Communicate the product vision and the value proposition to the internal and external audiences. 

  • Monitor and measure the product performance, the customer feedback, and the market trends, and use data-driven insights to validate assumptions and make decisions. 

  • Collaborate with the development teams to provide guidance and clarification on the product requirements and features. 
     

  • Facilitate the agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective, and provide feedback and coaching to the team. 

  • Review and validate the product deliverables and ensure that they meet the quality standards and customer expectations. 

  • Act as a single point of contact for business systems owners to provide support for product-related issues or requests.  

  • Triage, process, communicate, escalate, and resolve assigned product-related tickets using JIRA, ServiceNow or similar solution(s). 

  • Liaise with third-party vendor-managed services to complete product development and maintenance workstreams on time, on budget, and to quality.  

  • Support root cause analysis, in collaboration with other cross-functional stakeholders, to identify potential solutions to issues and to prevent future problems.  

  • Provide periodic service reports (KPIs), product performance monitoring (OKRs), and budget metrics (e.g., software license cost) for the IT systems of the overall products' portfolio. 

  • Within the GxP regulatory framework, update the relevant documentation following applicable departmental procedures. 

  • Assist with prioritization, categorization, and remediation of any production deviations and CAPAs. 

  • Contribute to knowledge base articles, templates, reusable artifacts. 

 

 

Requirements 

 

  • A degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field. 

  • At least 8 years of experience as a product owner, product manager, business analyst, or a similar role in the biopharmaceutical or software industry. 

  • Strong knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D processes and workflows, especially in the areas of biotherapeutics discovery and development. 

  • Experience working with GxP regulations, procedures. Particularly around change management, periodic reviews, and internal audits.? 

  • Strong understanding of the customer-centric approach, the user way-of-working methods, and the user experience design principles. 

  • Solid knowledge of the agile methodologies, the Scrum framework, and the agile tools, such as Jira and Confluence. 

  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework and SLA-based environment. 

  • Ability to effectively interpret a business problem into a technical solution and articulate it back to the business stakeholders. 

  • Experience with or knowledge of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning tools is a benefit. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; strong personal integrity, and the ability to work with diverse and cross-functional teams.
