**Position Summary**
The Sales Engineer for the Hydronics / Plumbing Equipment Sales division will sell major hydronics and plumbing equipment and technical solutions. This position will drive the business unit forward by achieving solid results in the industrial and commercial business sectors.
**Pay Range:**
First 6 Months: $ 55,670 - $94,201
After 6 Months: 100% commission
**Responsibilities**
* Prepare detailed, accurate bids and proposals. Execute timely prior approvals, properly coordinates bids, write thorough and timely quotes and send timely scope letters
* Promptly submit accurate and thorough submittals with a good choice of the most relevant products, and solutions
* Punctual with commitments to customers, phone calls, job problems, and credit issues. Follow up on jobs after bid to obtain appropriate information and close orders. Prepare equipment orders in a precise and timely fashion
* Perform routine sales duties with little or no supervision, including planning and executing daily activities i.e. sales calls, lunches, customer entertainment, and factory visits
* Propose ideas, and determine new and innovative ways of selling and supporting our customers
* Accept new assignments and assume additional duties when necessary even though these efforts may not contribute directly to income; working as a team player
* Actively participates in local ASHRAE / ASPE chapter
* Provide input to sales management for testimonials, case studies and reference letters
* Work with customer service people, regional sales managers, service and warranty people, and develop positive, productive relationships with them
* Frequently gets LONG listed as basis of design through effective sales work with consulting engineers and owners
* Influence consulting engineers to keep specs current with technology and industry practices to avoid unnecessary job costs and confusion
* Cooperate and communicate effectively with inside salespeople, other LONG sales personnel and managers, office staff, sales managers, and suppliers
* Demonstrate proper and ethical judgment and decision-making skills
* Successfully communicate with, trains, and challenges their assigned inside person
* Sell the value of LONG products, systems, and solutions
* Generate and execute sales plans for specific accounts including owners, consulting engineers and installing contractors
* Assist consulting engineers with the design of HVAC mechanical systems
* Pursue orders for equipment by following projects from the planning stage through completion
* Coordinate order status, installation assistance, and warranty administration with customers, manufacturers, and other LONG personnel
* Abide by all LONG and OSHA safety regulations at all times
* Drive defensively and obey all traffic laws including LONG safe driver policy (avoids all confrontational driving situations)
* Other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelors degree in an engineering science preferred
* Minimum 3 years experience successfully selling and/or applying HVAC / Hydronic / Plumbing equipment
* Possesses the practical/technical knowledge required to apply and sell all products, and pursues additional job related knowledge
* Solid understanding of basic heat transfer concepts.
* Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills
* Strong computer, technical writing, strategy and negotiation skills
* Demonstrated ability to influence the decision-making process at key levels
* Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization with professionalism
