THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement Managers direct the day-to-day work of our consulting teams, working side-by-side with our clients. The Engagement Manager position offers excellent career and growth opportunities for talented, highly motivated professionals with notable prior experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the execution of technology due diligences; rapidly assessing a target company's digital capabilities and technology environment to identify opportunities and risks, and impact to the overall investment thesis
  • Managing execution of other Oliver Wyman Digital projects covering topics such as digital strategy, technology transformation and modernization, cost & efficiency, and cyber risk
  • Leading assessments (with support from technical experts) of technology environments including product strategy, architecture / engineering, security / resiliency, infrastructure, and IT operating model
  • Collaborating with technical experts (e.g., architects, engineers) to develop recommendations and distill findings into business impacts
  • Synthesizing findings into written presentations; reviewing and discussing with clients and other stakeholders
  • Effectively communicating technical concepts in business terms and impacts to an overall investment thesis
  • Managing client relationships and networks, presenting to senior audiences, and working day-to-day with senior and mid-level clients
YOUR EXPERIENCE

Just as every client project is different, so we recognize and value the diversity of backgrounds and skill sets for successful Engagement Manager candidates. We are seeking high-caliber individuals who want to join our winning team. Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy or IT consulting firm
  • Experience leading or supporting technology due diligences
  • Experience / familiarity with several (but not necessarily all) facets of a technology stack including architecture / engineering, IT infrastructure, IT security / resiliency, software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps / DevSecOps), product management, data science
  • Strong ability to adapt to different project types and client situations (e.g., ability to manage execution of technology due diligences, as well as other types of Oliver Wyman Digital projects)
  • Strong ability to partner with a wide-range of technical experts to conduct analyses, as well as ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
  • Strong communication / presentations skills, comfortable presenting to senior executives and/or private equity deal teams
  • Background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
  • Track record of leading and managing teams, and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $200K to $220K

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
