Sales Engineer - automotive, aerospace, ag
Responsibilities:
Identify prospective customers by using various sales and marketing channels including, online business directories, referrals, participating in organizations and associations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
Generate new sales opportunities with target customers and obtain requests for quotation.
Build relationships with c-suite, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing personnel at key accounts to perpetuate confidence and trust in the company.
Thoroughly prepare for all customer meetings and ask engaging questions that draw out both needs and buying motives.
Follow up on quotations for territory to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with the appropriate internal team members.
Serve as a liaison between our customer and company during product launch to clarify technical or logistical issues between the customer and plant quality or production teams.
Meet with qualified prospects and customers at least 60% of the time.
Monitor the customer base and market for changing conditions. Make recommendations to management regarding sales trends and investment opportunities.
Complete periodic assessments of competition to include processes, prices, and sales.
Liaison between accounting team and customer to resolve customer payment issues.
Communicate price adjustments to our customers.
Maintain high level of industry knowledge and remain up to date on industry trends and issues.
Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales forecasts and reports, documenting annual goals and reporting against, monitor/track performance to sales forecasts, and documenting all activities in CRM.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or similar discipline.
At least 5 years of technical sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven results in creating new business opportunities and achieving aggressive sales growth.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Salesforce experience is a plus.
Experience utilizing social media as a sales and marketing tool.
Valid drivers license and good driving record.
Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time and visit customer locations.
Must have the ability to travel outside the U.S.
