KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an A/E/C Proposal Manager to lead the strategic direction and partner with the technical team to develop winning strategies for compelling proposals and presentations for various aviation, utilities, and transportation programs. The Proposal Marketing Manager will develop responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP), Request for Task Order Proposals (RFTOP) and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) from opportunity assessment to proposal submittal. This position will be responsible for leading the efforts on technical writing, proposal drafting, proposal submittal, interview prep and internal marketing materials.

The ideal candidate will be someone with strong communication skills who thrives in an independent atmosphere and brings a highly proactive, self-starter approach to the role with minimal guidance needed. The ability to multi-task and manage multiple deliverables in an efficient manner is necessary for this position.

This position is hybrid and requires a minimum of (3) days per week in office at the Glendale, CA headquarters. Applicants must be able to work a full-time work schedule of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Proposal Management

  • Provide strategic direction/guidance to pursuit team in developing strategies for responding to, preparing materials, and developing proposals in response to RFQs, RFPs, RFTOPs and SOQs.
  • Manage the program or project pursuit life cycle, including being responsible for planning, controlling, directing, and executing all activities from opportunity assessment to proposal submittal.
  • Create and maintain the proposal schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Lead the development of the proposal narrative that tells a good story, supported by strong technical examples and write-ups.
  • Lead writing and graphics generation to achieve pursuit objectives and meet deadlines, performing quality and compliance reviews.
  • Write persuasively and edit text to create compelling and grammatically correct copy for proposals and branding materials, improving proposal organization, readability, completeness, and clarity.
  • Engaged with Technical Staff to curate project write-ups and technical materials.
  • Lead selected staff members in interview preparation sessions in both group and individual (1 on 1) settings for pursuits.
  • Develop visually appealing and organized leave-behinds for pursuit interviews.
Marketing/Business Development
  • Produce dynamic creative assets including PowerPoint presentation slides, one sheets, flyers, email blasts, and company newsletters
  • Attend pre-proposal meetings, board meetings, industry events, and conferences as an extension of the Business Development team
  • Partner with Business Development team to track market developments, create strategies, implement teaming plans, and maintain partner relations.
  • Provide light website support and online content reviews (as needed).
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Marketing, Communications or a related field from an accredited institution and 5+ years related experience in proposal generation for a construction, engineering, or design firm.
  • Preferred candidates will have 5-10 years of related experience in the AEC industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign is a MUST.
  • Previous experience working in public agency with multi-year professional services contracts is a PLUS.
  • Prior experience successfully leading team interview prep sessions for large pursuits is a PLUS.
  • Prior experience working collaboratively with c-suite executives and presenting to corporate leadership is a MUST.

Anticipated Salary Range: $98,000-$140,000 per year
