OVERVIEWThe Linx Sales Engineer (SE) works with the President/BDM, Engineering Manager, and Territory Managers through all aspects of Linx operations. This position will provide engineering support and/or training to Linx personnel and/or representatives.The Sales Engineer will also contribute to the expansion of Linx though support of ductwork performance standards within the industry organizations in the advancement of industry standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDevelopment and adherence of best-known practicesEvaluates customer orders and makes suggestions for the most efficient use of product with respect to application, space and airflow, providing a customized solution to the customer's needs.Provide technical and sales support of products, develops brand awareness with the customer/clients.Assist customers with submittals and bill of material (BOM) quotations, as well as follow up on previous quotations provided by the estimating department.Provide engineering support and/or training to Linx personnel and/or representatives.Engineering tool developmentAttend sales and trade shows and read related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends and industry development as required by the Engineering Manager.Provide technical support for products and CadMEP.Integration/application of any new softwareRepresent Linx at industry standards organizations (i.e.,Ashrae)Support President/BDM, Engineering Manager, and Territory Managers as needed.Calculation of customer's bill when special discounting percentage is applicable.EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIESExperience with working with a variety of different people across the company to motivate and support achievement of meeting customer needs.Proven problem solving and dispute resolution skills including ability to identify and eliminate barriers.Knowledge of HVAC products, applications and methods used to measure performance and pertinent costs.Experience with construction industry processes to include bidding and negotiation process and reading/understanding engineering drawings.MS Office and AutoCADStrong oral and written communication skills with experience training others.Prior use of software to tracking orders and customer information.EDUCATIONMechanical Engineering or related degree required.COMPANY PROFILEDMI Companies, founded in 1978, is a leading manufacturer of HVAC accessories supplying the commercial, industrial and residential HVAC markets through a vast network of domestic and international distributors.
